Large-scale photographs produced under strict optical constraints render everyday objects overwhelmingly near, with depth reduced to a thin field of visibility, suspended on the edge of absence. The works expose the ambiguity of the image as an opaque surface that is at the same time able to stage transparency onto reality, reducing visibility to its first, barest layer — a liminal surface where the opacity required for visibility meets the minimal transparency that allows reality to emerge.
